1. What is Kintsugi?
Kintsugi (also called Kintsukuroi) is the Japanese art of putting broken pieces back together with golden lacquer, so that the repaired objects turn into something more beautiful, not despite, but thanks to their golden cracks. You can read more about it in our ‘About’ section.

2. Do I need any prior knowledge or skills to start with the Art of Kintsugi?
No, definitely not! The traditional method of Kintsugi is very complex, delicate and time consuming but with CHIYU, we’ve created a worry-free & easy DIY kit! If you follow our Quick Guide or instruction video, you will be able to mend your broken object by yourself. If you’d like more information on the philosophy behind Kintsugi, guidance and tips, you’re very welcome to follow one of our workshops at our CHIYU Studio. 3. Do I need a broken object to follow a CHIYU Kintsugi workshop?
No, you are very welcome to bring your broken object with you but we also provide different (smaller) objects to practice on. You can find more information in our ‘Workshop’ section. 

4. Can I only use the color gold?
No, you can mix the BIO resin with any color powder you’d like! In our workshop, we will provide different color powders so you can experiment with them :).

5. For which materials can I use Kintsugi?
You can use CHIYU Kintsugi not only for ceramics, but also for wood, glass, stone & concrete so the options are endless! Let your creativity flow! You can find more information in our ‘Product’ section.

6. What is the epoxy element in my kit for?
You can use the epoxy element to fill up larger cracks. It is super strong & waterproof! You can find more information in our ‘Product’ section.

7. Can I put my repaired objects in the dishwasher?
Yes, you can! Once the BIO resin is completely hardened (after 3 days), you can safely put your items in the dishwasher. Keep in mind that if you put the items in the dishwasher on a daily base, after a while the golden color becomes darker. You can easily fix this by applying a new layer of the resin and the golden powder. Heat does slightly soften the CHIYU Bio resin so leave it a couple of hours to rest before using it again. 8. Can I use my repaired object for tea?
Yes, your r
epaired items can endure temperatures up to 100° celsius. This means you can use it for your favorite tea! Heat does slightly soften the CHIYU Bio resin so leave it a couple of hours to rest before using it again.

9. Can I use my repaired object in the oven?
Because of the temperature limit, you cannot put you item in the oven or microwave.
